Landscapers from LGAs of concern to return to work
24th September 2021
by The Landscape Association
In response to consistent lobbying for Members and industry, the NSW Government has announced further easing of restrictions for landscapers who live within the LGAs of concern.
Workers from LGAs of concern who meet vaccination requirements are already permitted to leave their LGAs for construction on un-occupied sites. From Monday 27 September, workers will also be able to leave their LGAs to do outdoor work on occupied sites, provided they meet the current vaccination requirements for authorised workers.
Also from Monday 27 September, the cap on the number of outdoor workers at occupied sites will be removed. Workforce vaccination requirements and requirements for COVID-safe site plans remain in place.
TLA has been regularly meeting with government and industry representatives throughout this current lockdown period and has actively pushed for the changes, sharing Member feedback and highlighting the low risk our industry poses. This announcement is an advocacy win for our Members and the industry.
